The Power Clean is an explosive full-body exercise that when performed correctly, adds muscle density and functional strength to your entire body. This exercise, like all Olympic lifts, is very technical and needs to be executed with care in order to achieve the maximum benefits while reducing the chance of injury.
Ideally, one should learn how to Power Clean under the guidance of a Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach such as myself, but that’s not always possible. So, I put together this quick video that demonstrates some basic principles that any lifter can benefit from.
NOTE: The Power Clean is an advanced, complex move that requires coordination and good technique. Be sure to practice this exercise slowly with no weight on the bar while you learn this movement pattern.
