Heirloom Tomato, Basil, Watermelon Salad

Summer is just around the corner, yay! During this holiday weekend we hope you enjoy the warmer weather and take advantage of the wonderful selection of seasonal produce. Here’s an easy, quick and delicious way to combine multiple flavors and vibrant colors. This super healthy, delicious salad from Luci’s Morsels combines the sweet juiciness of watermelon, the tangy taste of heirloom tomatoes, a hint of basil, and a pop of pine nuts!




yield: 6 servings



  • 2 large heirloom tomatoes, sliced ¾”

  • 4 Cups 1″ watermelon pieces

  • 10 oz. baby heirloom tomatoes, halved

  • 1 ½ Tablespoons olive oil

  • ½ teaspoon apple cider vinegar

  • ½ cup pine nuts

  • flaked sea salt

  • fresh cracked pepper

  • fresh basil



  1. Layer tomato slices on bottom of serving dish.

  2. In a medium mixing bowl, combine watermelon and halved baby tomatoes. Layer over tomato slices.

  3. In mixing bowl, quickly whisk olive oil, vinegar, and pine nuts. Drizzle over salad.

  4. Top with salt and pepper to taste.

  5. Julienne basil to garnish. (NOTE: Once cut, basil leaves start to blacken, so be sure to save this step for last; add JUST before serving.)

  6. Serve and enjoy!
