Bodyweight Flow: Hip Opening Dynamic Stretch

Dynamic stretching involves smooth and steady movement with natural range of motion in order to warm muscles and tendons. Active movement also increases body temperature and blood flow.

For any of you who sit at a desk, in a car, or experience occasional low back pain, your hips could likely use a little TLC. This hip-opening dynamic flow can help loosen tight hips, improve your range of motion and circulation, and alleviate back pain. As a bonus, I threw in triceps push-ups to fire off the core and upper body. Enjoy!!

Repeat this sequence several times, deepening the stretch as your body allows.
  • Squat
  • Plank
  • Triceps Push-up
  • Down Dog Split
  • Pigeon Pose
  • Down Dog Scorpion Split
  • (Switch Sides)
Always work within YOUR pain-free available range and meet your body where it is.
